V. Arlene Coon

Farmdale, Ohio - V. Arlene Coon, age 89, died on Friday, May 20, 2011, at her home She was born October 2, 1921, in Farmdale, OH, the daughter of Daisy (Dean) and Harry Southworth. She graduated from Badger High School in 1939 and worked as a bookkeeper for Myers Store in Farmdale for many years. In October of 1947, she married Clyde Coon who preceded her in death in 1990. She was a member and very active at the United Methodist Church of Kinsman. Mrs. Coon enjoyed music and played the piano and organ for the Church in earlier years. Along with her husband, Mrs. Coon is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Carolyn Hanson; and two sisters, Dorothy Heidelberg and Caroline Southworth. Survivors include her nieces, Cheryl Elstins of Silver Spring, MD, and Nancy Chandler of Panacea, FL, and her nephew, Robert Heidelberg of Schertz, TX, and their families. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 26, at Noon at Baumgardner's Funeral and Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, OH, with Rev. David McKinnon officiating. Private burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 26, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
