Velma L. Smith

Velma L. Smith, 68 years old, of Warren, Ohio, died on Monday, April 26, 2004, at Northside Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio. Velma was born on June 11, 1935, in Andover, Ohio, to the late Martin Howell and the late Lahja (Amio) Howell. Formerly of Florida and Andover, Ohio, Mrs. Smith has lived in Warren, Ohio, for over 20 years. She was employed as a cab dispatcher for many years. She attended the Lordstown Lutheran Church, and she enjoyed spending time with family and having get togethers. Her hobbies included making crafts and working on puzzles. Preceding her in death are her parents; a daughter, Gayle Smith; a brother, Leonard Howell; and former husband Donald E. Smith. She is survived by her five daughters, Terri Smith of Lordstown, OH; Virginia Smith of Hollywood, FL; Dawn Bradford of Longwood, FL; Melanie Smith of Howland, OH; and Kandace Sexton of Warren, OH; her son, Douglas Smith of Lockport, NY; two sisters, Bertha Eastlake of Andover, OH; and Betty Ann Hall of Warren, OH; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 30, 2004, at 2:00p.m. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, Ohio. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery, Wayne Township, Ohio.
