Verleen J. Butler, 86 years old, of Cleveland, Ohio, died on Sunday, January 30, 2005, in Parma Care Center in Parma, OH. Verleen was born on December 17, 1918, in Benton, KY, to the late Otis Blagg and the late Lura (Darnell) Blagg. Formerly a long time Andover resident, Mrs. Butler was a resident of Cleveland. She was employed by Star Bakery in Cleveland for 10 years; by the "Silver Grill Restaurant" in Higbees in Cleveland for 12 years; and also by Sears in Southland, Ohio. Mrs. Butler was a member of the West Andover Baptist Church; and her hobbies included gardening, camping, and she loved her animals. Mrs. Butler married James I. Butler on May 29, 1937. Preceding her in death are her husband in 1990; her parents; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet (Jim) Kehrer and Judy (Dick) Mrava, and Bill Parkinson; her sister, Lida Jones; and her brother, Tas Blagg. She is survived by her three daughters, Joanne M. Parkinson of Cleveland, OH; Joyce J. (Tim) Terrell of North Ridgeville, OH; and Jackie Y. (Ralph) Buongiovanni of Cleveland, OH; her sister, Lounell Westfall of Cleveland, OH; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at 11:00a.m. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio. Burial will follow in West Andover Cemetery.
