Vi was born February 22, 1922, in Little Washington, PA, the daughter of the late Amil and Anna (Saye) Williams. Vi graduated from Johnston School in 1941; and she attended the Warren School of Cosmetology. She worked at several area restaurants before gaining employment at Federal Machine proudly making tanks during wartime. She was a dedicated employee of Packard Electric until her retirement in 1985. Vi greatly enjoyed meeting friends, neighbors, and travelers at her fruit and vegetable stand which is a landmark in Johnston, Ohio. This enjoyment and her work ethic has been passed on to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her years of fellowship with Johnston Federated United Methodist Church and Kinsman United Methodist Church. She looked forward to the monthly lunch gatherings with the Martha Circle. Vi will be greatly missed by her son, Dale O. (Nancy) Overly; her three granddaughters, Michelle (Alexander) Kolbe, Sheryl (Russell) Overly-Sprague, and Keri (William) Overly-Wear; and seven great-grandchildren. She was a grandmother to 9 step great-grandchildren and 3 step great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Helen (Wallace) Williams Brain; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, George Welsch in 2001; and an infant sister, Louise Ann in 1933. Respecting Vi's wishes, there will be no calling hours.
