Lenox, Ohio - Virgil Lee Camp, age 95, died at his residence on Monday, July 2, 2007. He was born on December 3, 1911 in Williamsfield, Ohio to Charles David Camp and Kate Cordelia (Cook) Camp. Formerly of Pompano Beach, Florida for over twenty years, Mr. Camp was a resident of Lenox Township for the past twelve years under the loving care of his daughter-in-law- Judith Camp. On December 28, 1932 he married Mabel Flora Lipps. Married twenty-six years, she died on January 26,1959. A man of many talents, Mr. Camp, in his younger years, farmed both dairy and crop for himself and for the Lipps Brothers in Wayne, Ohio, for over 25 years,doing both farming and equipment mechanics. Mr. Camp took care of the State Park grounds on State Route 322 in Williamsfield for many years as well as serving as Cherry Valley's Constable. He drove school bus for Pymatuning Schools for over five years. Mr. Camp attended the Lenox Federated Church and was a former member of the Ashtabula County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed traveling and spending time in nature. Mr. Camp married Dorothy M. Reagan in 1971. She died in 1990. He is also preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, James G. Camp, C. Clayton Camp, Lyle E. Camp, Gerald V. Camp, Russell V. Camp; and three sisters, Gertrude L. Camp, Clara M. Hayes, and Agnes L. Welch. Survivors include his daughter, RuthAnn Wetherbee of Conneaut, Ohio; his son Keith L. (Judith) Camp Sr. of Lenox, Ohio; five grandchildren, Keith L. (Rhonda) Camp Jr., Scott P. (Kathy) Camp, Joseph L. (Karin) Camp, Devonna "Dee" R. (Thomas) Thompson, Daniel V. (Debbie)Camp; and ten great grandchildren, Nickolas, Elisabeth, Emilie, T.J., Todd, Heidi, Ryan, Brittnay, Kasey and Jordan. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio with Dr. Michael L. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery, in Wayne, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 5th from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
