Virginia J. Muir

VIRGINIA J. MUIR, age 87, of Johnston, Ohio, died Saturday, July 7, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio. She was born September 8, 1919 in Plymouth township, OH, to Carl and Ethel L. (Mann) Woofter. Formerly of Mecca township, Mrs. Muir had lived in Johnston since 1948. She was employed as secretary for Maplewood Elementary School and StanWade Metal Products. Mrs. Muir was actively involved in the Johnston Federated Church and taught sunday school for several years. She was an active member of the Farm Bureau. Mrs. Muir enjoyed traveling and extended family activities. Virginia married Allen G. Muir on December 24, 1939. Allen died April 8, 2000. Also preceding her in death are her parents; a son, Dr. Larry Muir; a daughter in infancy, Donna Jean Muir; five brothers, Dale, Lynn, Robert, Stanley, and Max Woofter; and one sister, Marjorie Martin. She is survived by two daughters, Carla Muir of North Jackson, OH, and Nancy Letcher of Kinsman,OH; a daughter-in-law, Beatrice Muir of Flemington, NJ; one brother, Richard (Alice Clare) Woofter of Mecca, OH; three sisters, Leona Gale of Massachusetts, Alberta Hammond of Bazetta township, OH, and Karlene (Marlin) Moschell of Cherry Valley township,OH; five grandchildren, Kenny (Heather) Letcher, Tanya (Craig) Tricker, Heather (Jeff) Spanbauer, Brad (Lynnea) Muir, and Ryan (Magdalena) Muir; and 9 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, OH. Burial will follow in Gustavus Cemetery.
