Andover, Ohio - Virginia M. "Ducky" Overly, age 86, died on September 14, 2009, in Andover, Ohio. She was born on November 8, 1922, in Girard, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Charlotte B. (McGuire) and James D. Currie. On August 2, 1946 she married Owen D. "Pete" Overly. Mrs. Overly was a member of the former Andover Order of Eastern Star, Bronzwood Golf Course in Kinsman, Ohio, and of the Moose in Ocala, Florida, where they wintered for many years. She enjoyed golfing and going on cruises. Mrs. Overly is preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Charles Overly; a son John R. "Jack" Overly; a great grandson, Taylor Plizga; a sister, Babe Linthicum and three brothers, William, Robert, and James Currie. Survivors include her husband of sixty-three years, Owen "Pete" Overly of Andover, Ohio; a daughter, Rebecca J. (Kenneth) Stevenson of Andover, Ohio; a son, Myron "Mike" L. (Paula) Overly of Andover, Ohio; a step-son, Dale O. (Nancy) Overly of Johnston, Ohio; two brothers, David (Marie) Currie of Clayton, North Carolina and Paul (Peggy) Currie of Orange Park, Florida; nine grandchildren, Jackie, Julie, Shelli, Sheri, Keri, Wendy, Anthony, Timothy and Shawn; sixteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery.
