Walter G. "Duke" Chandler

Sigel, PA - Walter G. "Duke" Chandler, age 49 of Sigel, Pennsylvania, died on October 13, 2006 at Brookville Hospital, in Brookville, Pennsylvania. He was born on April 1, 1957 in Warren, Ohio to Walter J. and Gladys F. (Walton) Chandler. Formerly of Farmdale, Ohio, Duke attended Joseph Badger High School. He was employed over the years with several companies in the oil fields of California, returning to spend the past 16 years in Sigel, Pennsylvania. Duke enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and was an avid sports fan, especially of NASCAR and Ohio State. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and a brother Joseph L. Chandler. Survivors include his wife Laura A. (Rogers) of Sigel, Pennsylvania whom he married on October 13, 1990; six daughters, Christy A. Chandler of Cortland, Tamara Decost of Warren, Ohio, Tamika R. Chandler, Marissa A. Chandler, Jessica M. Chandler and Cheayne K. Chandler all of Sigel, Pennsylvania; a sister, Gloria A. (James) Watkins of Vowinckel, Pennsylvania, a brother Christopher A. Chandler of Taft, California and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio with Pastor Mary Prior officiating. Burial will follow in Gustavus Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 from 6:00 p.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
