Wilda H. Palmer

Wilda H. Palmer, age 95, of Cherry Valley township, Ohio, died Friday, September 23, 2011, at the Andover Village Retirement Community. She was born January 26, 1916, in Eagleville, Ohio, a daughter of Claude E. and Hazel C. (Williams) Elliott. A long time Cherry Valley township resident, Mrs. Palmer was a graduate of Andover High School. She married her husband, Robert S. Palmer, on February 20, 1936; and helped operate a dairy farm. She raised a large flock of chickens for many years and mowed Cherry Valley Cemetery. Mrs. Palmer also worked for Andover Industries for sixteen years. She attended the Cherry Valley United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death are her husband, on Jan. 22, 1999;a granddaughter, Tina Manes; and two brothers, James E. Elliott and Robert G. Elliott. She is survived by a brother, Donald Elliott of Jefferson, OH; a sister, Glenna M. Wood of California; several nieces and nephews; and friends, Betty and Hugh Hamilton, and Sharon. Also survived by estranged daughter; estranged granddaughters; and estranged great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover,OH, with Rev. John Germaine officiating. Calling hours will be Monday, September 26th from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services and private burial of cremated remains will take place at Cherry Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cherry Valley United Methodist Church, 3353 St. Rt. 6, Andover, OH 44003.
