Vernon Township, OH--- Willard C. "Bill" Wilmoth, age 80, of Vernon Township,OH, died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren,OH. He was born February 23, 1927, in Gypsy, WV, the son of Grant and Mary (Lance) Wilmoth. A long time area resident, Mr. Wilmoth had lived in Vernon since 1946. Mr. Wilmoth was a veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific Theater for the U.S. Marines. He retired from Maplewood School District as a school bus driver; and was self employed doing excavating, auto body and mechanic work. He was a lifetime member and former commander-in-chief of the Burdette Edgar Totten VFW Post #6263, Gustavus; was a former member of the Harry Lees Post #506 American Legion, Kinsman; and served as a Trumbull county Sheriff's Department Auxiliary deputy. Mr. Wilmoth enjoyed flying airplanes, riding motorcycles, and in his younger years racing cars. Mr. Wilmoth married Helenne J. (Hruska) on October 12, 1946. She died Dec. 4, 2002. Also preceding him in death are his parents; and two brothers, Clinton T. and Robert Wilmoth. He is survived by two daughters, Sharyn L. (David) Hipkins of Vernon Township, OH, and Denise A. (Lynn) Manes of Johnston Township, OH; one son, Douglas M. (Christine) Wilmoth of Johnston Township, OH; sister, NeEva Swick of Cortland, sister, Wanda (Dewey) Cutlip of Burghill, brother, Grant (Kathrine) Wilmoth of Port Orange, FL, sister, Vivian (Jack) Schrecengost of Lady Lake, FL, brother, Charles (Debby) Wilmoth of Niles;sister, Linda (Robert) Newman of Florida, sister, Susie (John) Cassity of Niles, brother, Ronnie Wilmoth of Greenville, PA, brother, Raymond (Marylee) Wilmoth of Hermitage, PA; grandson, Shawn D. Hipkins of Vernon, Jared E. Hipkins of Vernon, grandson, Jason L. Manes of Johnston, granddaughter, Julie A. (Mike) Hatfield of Canton, granddaughter, Desiree N. Wilmoth of Johnston, and grandson, Nathan G. Wilmoth of Johnston; and 3 Great Grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Vernon United Methodist Church, St. Rt. 7, Vernon Township, OH, with Pastor John Benigas officiating.
