William H. Beck

William H. Beck, age 70, of Andover, Ohio, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, May 1, 2015. He was born February 7, 1945, in Meadville, PA, the son of Harold Beck and Ruth (Penfield) Wetherington. A long time Andover resident, Bill had also been a resident of Ashtabula for ten years. He was a 1963 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School. Bill was a long time insurance agent for Martin Insurance Agency in Andover, and was semi-retired. He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ; and a former member of the Andover Rotary Club. Bill enjoyed doing carpentry work, wood carving, and working outside. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren and attending their events. Bill is survived by his wife, Sue E. (Melton) Beck, whom he married August 14, 1965, of Andover; a son, Stephen (Billie Jo) Beck of Andover; a daughter, Stacey (Jeff) Skarlinsky of New Lyme township,OH; a son, Timothy (Jodi) Beck of New Lyme township, OH; his mother, Ruth Wetherington of New Smyrna Beach, FL; 8 Grandchildren, Patrick Martin, Kali Beck, Thomas Beck, Samuel Beck, Makenzie (Gary) Sloan, Mya Skarlinsky, Ruby Beck, and Ryan Beck; 1 Great Grandson, Quinten Sloan; a sister, Sharon (Fred) Vincent of New Smyrna Beach, FL; sister, Cindy (Hank) Eddy of New Smyrna Beach, FL; a brother, Chris (Robin) Beck of Edgewater, FL; a brother, Mike (Diana) Beck of New Smyrna Beach, FL; a sister, Cathy (Gene) Wilson of New Smyrna Beach, FL; a brother, Clay (Carolyn) Beck of Greene township, OH; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father; and step father, "Noddy" Wetherington. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at 12:00 PM at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 170 E. Main St., Andover, OH, with Rev. Dr. Jerry Fritz officiating. Calling hours will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. A private interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover, OH.
