William F. Evans, Jr., age 73, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died April 27, 2010. He was born April 21, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of William F. Evans, Sr. and Mary E. (Worthy) Evans. A former long time Andover resident, Mr. Evans had been in Nevada for the past seven years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Evans was employed by the Cleveland Stadium from 1974 until 1996; by General Electric in Erie, PA for 11 years as a wireman; by Falcon Oil Co. for 6 years as a truck driver; and by the Liberty Theater in Cleveland as a porter at the age of 9. His hobbies included farming, fishing, hunting, and he enjoyed all sports. In high school and service in the Air Force he enjoyed boxing and playing football and baseball. Mr. Evans is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Cipra), whom he married June 29, 1985, of Las Vegas, NV; son, Martin L. Daniels of Cleveland, OH, son, Johnny L. Fogle of KY, daughter, Marnessa P. Evans of Athens, GA, daughter, Esther M. Kidd of Slatersville, KY, daughter, Dora M. Kidd of Slatersville, KY, daughter, Dorene K. Aubel of Greenville, PA, daughter, Sarah L. Grinaldi of Las Vegas, NV, son, Clayton A. Comstock of Greenville, PA, son, Eddie W. Evans of San Antonio, TX, and daughter, Pam Kirby of Kent, OH; two brothers, Ronald Evans of Andover, OH, and Charles Evans of Cleveland, OH; five sisters, Marilyn Kimmey, Gwendolyn Meeks, Cecilia Landrom, and Linda Evans, all of Cleveland, OH, and Anita Howard of Thompson,OH; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Filceu Evans; infant brother, Lawrence Evans; and a sister, Charlotte A. Evans. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH. Calling hours will be from 12 noon until the time of service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 Eighteenth St. NW, Washington D.C. 20006-3517.
