William J. "Jim" Ahola

William J. "Jim" Ahola, age 82, of Uniontown, OH, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton,OH. He was born November 16, 1927, in Cherry Valley Township,OH, the son of Vannie A. and Thelma (Hunter) Ahola. Formerly of Ashtabula County, Mr. Ahola had lived in Uniontown for the past forty years. He was a 1945 graduate of Rome High School, and he received his Electronic Engineering Degree from the Ohio College of Applied Science in 1959. He was employed as a computer technician for Unisys, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ashtabula, OH. Mr. Ahola loved to bowl, travel, read, play cards, and square dance He is survived by his wife, Jeannine E. (Pouttu) Ahola, whom he married June 1, 1952, of Uniontown. He is preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; one sister, Katherine L. Davis; and one brother, Earl G. Ahola. A funeral service will be held on Wednesdsay, April 21, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio, with Pastor Larry L. Mackey of Bethany Lutheran Church in Ashtabula officiating. Burial will follow in Williamsfield Center Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
