Andover, Ohio - William I. Ong IV, age 70, died on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Andover Village Retirement Community. An Andover resident since 1992, Mr. Ong was formerly of Cleveland Heights. He was born on June 2, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio to William I. Ong III and Janet (Neff) Ong. Mr. Ong was a 1954 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School. He attended DePauw University and graduated in 1960 from Vanderbilt Divinity School. Mr. Ong was formerly a member of the Fairmount Presbyterian Church in Cleveland Heights and was active in Boy Scouts of America. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Mr. Ong is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Neff Ong. Survivors include his brother, William Thompson (Rita) Ong of Santa Monica, California; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Sara Ong of Santa Monica, California; nieces, Janet Landon of Santa Monica, California, Samantha Cook of Lakewood, Colorado, Isabelle Kellogg of New York City, Cassandra Ong of Raleigh, North Carolina; nephews, Winfield Ong of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Clifford Ong of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Mr. Ong would have wanted to thank the caregivers during his last years at Andover Village Retirement Center. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Lakeview Cemetery, Mayfield Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
