William E. Skeels

WILLIAM E. SKEELS, age 68, of North Bloomfield, Ohio, died Friday, July 6, 2007, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, Ohio. He was born March 3, 1939, in Warren, Ohio, to Earl and Lena (Williams) Skeels. A lifetime Bloomfield resident, Mr. Skeels was a 1957 Farmington High School graduate and was a Kent State University graduate. He was employed as a school teacher for Maplewood, Bristol, and Farmington school districts and retired from the Conneaut school district. Mr. Skeels served on the Bloomfield-Mespo school board for several years; and coached basketball, baseball, softball, track, and golf for many years. He was an avid golfer and worked in the clubhouse at Forest Oaks Golf Course in Southington. Mr. Skeels is survived by his wife, Kathleen A. (McMillen) Skeels, whom he married August 22, 1959, of North Bloomfield,OH; his daughter, Beth Baker of North Bloomfield,OH; his son, William R. Skeels of North Bloomfield,OH; his step mother, Frances Skeels of Middlefield,OH; two sisters, Joyce Elwood of Garrettsville,OH,and Janet Skeels of Chicago,IL; two brothers, Dennis Skeels of Champion,OH,and Terry Skeels of Mesopotamia,OH; two grandchildren, Michelle and Darlene Skeels; and his aunt, Betty Dilley, of Gustavus township,OH. He is preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH, with Rev. Vernon Palo officiating. Burial will follow in Brownwood Cemetery, North Bloomfield,OH. Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 10th from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
