William "Jack" Ward, age 83, of Andover, OH, died Saturday, August 4, 2018, at the Andover Village Skilled Nursing Center. He was born May 3, 1935, in Bliss, NY, a son of Frank and Florence (Hamer) Ward. Formerly of Ashtabula and Conneaut, Mr. Ward retired from Asplundh Tree Co. after many years of service. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, tinkering around the garage, and fixing things. He always seemed to have what was needed to do the job and had a gift of taking things apart and putting them back together. Mr. Ward was a devoted companion and great caregiver to his companion, Edna Klejka. He deeply cared about her wellbeing. He is survived by his companion, Edna M. Klejka, of Andover, OH; his daughter, Joy Cobb of Arcade, NY; his son, Jerry Ward of Machias, NY; brother, Frank Ward of Yorkshire, NY; sister, Charlotte Stanbro of Delevan, NY; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Joni Barber. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH, with Pastor Steve Amidon and Evangelist Craig Cobb officiating.
