Vilho "Willie" Gust Koivisto, age 92, of Andover, Ohio, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Andover Village Retirement Community. He was born April 1, 1919, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, a son of Eli E. and Hanna M. (Walli) Koivisto. A long time Andover resident, Mr. Koivisto retired from O & P Oil & Gas Co. in Andover in 1981. He formerly was employed by C.W. Wood Estate Feedmill, French Bros. Feedmill, and Camp Reynolds in Pennsylvania. He also operated a farm for many years. He enjoyed collecting antiques and refinishing furniture; and enjoyed his coffee time with his friends at McDonalds. Mr. Koivisto is survived by his wife, Elizabeth M. (Inman) Koivisto, whom he married Oct. 7, 1942, of Andover; two daughters, Marlea (Francis) Sparks of Bourbonnais, IL, and Gail (Allen) Sparks of Ashtabula, OH; four grandchildren, Gwendolyn (David) DeCrow of Marco Island, FL, Gregory (Julie) Eastlake of Sandusky, OH, Lisa (Mark) Loncar of Chardon, OH, and Alan (Kelly) Waldron of Ashtabula, OH; six great grandchildren; his sister, Fannie (Robert) Walker of Erie, PA; and his brother, Arthur (Charlene) Koivisto of Kinsman,OH. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Eastlake; one sister, Elizabeth "Bette" Jokinen; and two brothers, Eino "Andy" Koivisto and Rudolph Koivisto. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH. A private burial of cremated remains will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover, OH.
