Wilma Jean Hunt, age 68, of Johnston, Ohio, died Monday, October 11, 2010, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. She was born October 6, 1942, in Greenville, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Winifred (Koehler) and George Thurber, Sr. A lifetime area resident, Jean was a 1960 graduate of Jamestown High School. She was employed for 26 years at the former Sparkle Market in Kinsman. Jean was a member of the Red Hat Society in Kinsman and she enjoyed playing Euchre. She was an avid reader; enjoyed doing crossword puzzles; and loved going to her grandchildren's sporting events. Jean is survived by her daughter, Melanie Evan of Johnston, Ohio; her son, Monty (Barbara) Hunt of Vernon, Ohio; her daughter, Rita Mitchell of Warren,Ohio; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and four brothers, George (Mary Ellen) Thurber, Jr. of Colorado, Merle (Sis) Thurber of Hartstown, Pennsylvania, Tom (Kay) Thurber of Jamestown, Pennsylvania, and Si (Rosemarie) Thurber of Greenville, Pennsylvania. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Melvin "Junior" Hunt; her brother, Gordon Thurber; and her sister, Mary Ellen Thurber.
