Winona Madge Bland

Winona Madge Bland, 85 years old, a resident of Johnston Township, Ohio, since 1951, died on Friday, December 31, 2004, at Briarfield of Cortland in Fowler Township, where she had been a long time resident. She was born on Feburary 26, 1919, in West Union, WV, to Blanche Mae (Moore) and Earl A. Swentzel, but was raised by Oral Pland and Blanche. She was a homemaker and she attended the former Corinth Church in Vernon, OH. Her life was dedicated to praising the Lord. Mrs. Bland was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Richard C. Bland; her grandson, Richard E. "Dicky" Bland; and two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her son, Richard Gale (Ada) Bland of Johnston Twp., OH; her daughter, Naomi G. Luna of Johnston Twp., OH; three sisters, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at 10:00a.m. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio. Burial will follow in Johnston Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, January 3, 2005, from 6p.m to 8p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
